SAINTs Appeal
Cluny Animal Trust Appeal…
They could really use your help to network their cause
Unfortunately they don’t have a website set up as yet but they have a new Facebook page running.
This is what they are all about. Once you’ve read this you will understand why they need help. Please could you share this post so that we can generate some much needed traffic towards their page and hopefully some helping hands or much needed donations.
The nearest vet hospital to Clarens, is Johannesburg or Bloemfontein, both more than three hours away!
The local vet has just established the Cluny Animal Trust, to ensure that no animal in the Eastern Free State needs to suffer due to abuse, neglect or lack of veterinary care.
The Cluny Animal Trust needs:
- · a property on which to build a veterinary hospital.
- · a vehicle fitted as a mobile clinic.
- · Financial help with on-going outreach work,
- · neutering and providing medical care for underprivileged animals.
- · a website, designed and maintained
- · materials such as posters, dvds, etc. to educate owners of animals as well as schoolchildren about responsible animal ownership
Donations may be made directly to the bank account:
Cluny Animal Trust,
savings account no.035 278 846,
Standard Bank (Bethlehem) branch code 055033.

Friday Thought…
I have had some really awesome messages in my inbox. Your messages keep me going. I love to hear your ideas and actually get to implement some of them.
Thanks also to those of you who messaged me on Facebook and told me about the latest addition to your family. I love to hear your stories.
If you would like to post a little something here to tell everyone about your awesome decision send a photo or two and a little story and I will let you know when your story will be posted. Maybe your story could inspire someone to save another furry child.
Send your requests to stuffdidoodles@gmail.com
Next on the list is a little or BIG request – it depends on how you see it.
Its only the beginning of winter and many Shelters, welfares and Charities like CROW, PETS, and various SPCA’s around the country are already requesting donations of pet food because their stocks are low. So here’s my favour – I would like to appeal to each and every one of you to do something to help them.
There are many ways in which you can do this.
- · You can tweet the SA radio DJ’s or celebs you follow and ask them to simply RT your message or go even bigger and ask their followers to donate.
- · You could update your Facebook Status and ask your friends to donate as little as a tin of pet food to their nearest animal shelter.
- · If you work in an office with a large amount of staff why not ask each of your colleagues to bring one tin to work and donate all the tins you collected. (If you are a teacher or principal at a school this concept could work for you too. Why not ask each child to bring one tin to school) We all could learn a little more about giving to the voiceless.
It’s simple if you think about it – typing a request never killed anyone…
If you have some simple ideas to help these shelters, charities and welfares in need; type it in the comment box.
Let us all try to make a difference…
I hope that all of you have a pawsome weekend. Keep yourselves and your pets warm…
Hugs

How Man Earned Longevity
God created the donkey and told him: you will work tireless from sun up to sun down, carrying heavy bags on your back, you'll eat grass, you will not have intelligence and you will live 50 years. You will be a DONKEY!
The donkey answered: I'll be a donkey, but living 50 years is too much, give me only 20 years. And God gave him 20 years.
God created the dog and told him: You will look after the man's house, you will be his best friend, you will eat whatever they give you and you will live 25 years. You will be a DOG!
The dog answered: God, living 25 years is too much, give only 10. God gave him 10 years.
God created the monkey and told him: You will jump from branch to branch, you will do silly things, you will be amusing and you will live 20 years.
The monkey answered: God, living 20 years is too much, give me only 10 years. And God agreed.
Finally, God created man, and told him: You will be Man, the only rational being on this earth, you will use your intelligence to control other animals, you will dominate the world and you will live for 20 years.
The man answered: God, I'll be man, but living 20 years is not enough, why don't you give me the 30 years that the donkey refused, the 20 years that the dog did not want and the 10 years that the monkey refused.
That was what God did, and since then, Men live 20 years like a man, then he enters adulthood and spends 30 years like a donkey, working and carrying the load on his back, then when his children leave home, spends 15 years like a dog, looking after the house and eating whatever is given to him, then he gets into retirement, and spends 10 years like a monkey, jumping from house to house or from children to children, doing silly things to amuse the grandchildren.

A Loan From God
I came across this stunning poem and thought I’d share it with you.
A loan from God
God promised at birth of time,
A special friend to give,
His time on earth is short, he said,
So love him while he lives.
It may be for eight or ten years,
Or only two or three,
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him for me?
A wagging tail and cold wet nose,
And silken velvet ears,
A heart as big as all outdoors,
To love you through the years.
His puppy ways will gladden you,
And antics bring a smile,
As guardian or friend, he will,
Be loyal all the while,
He’ll bring his charms to grace your life
And though his stay be brief,
When he’s gone the memories,
Are solace for your grief,
I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return,
But lessons only a dog can teach,
I want you each to learn.
I’ve looked the whole world over,
In search of guardians true,
And from the folk that crowd life’s land,
I have chosen you.
Whatever love you give to him,
Returns in triple measure,
Follow his lead and gain a life,
Brim full of simple pleasures.
Enjoy each day as it comes,
Allow your heart to guide,
Be loyal and steadfast in love,
As the dog there by your side.
Now will you give him all your love,
Nor think a labour vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call,
To take him back again?
I fancy each of us would say,
Dear Lord, thy will be done,
For all the joys this dog shall bring,
The risk of grief we’ll run.
We’ll shelter him with tenderness,
We’ll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we’ve known,
Forever grateful stay.
But should the Angels call for him,
Much sooner than we’ve planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes,
And try to understand.
If by our love we’ve managed,
Gods wishes to achieve,
In memory of him that we have loved,
And to help us while we grieve;
When our faithful bundle departs,
This earthly world of strife,
We’ll get yet another pup,
And love him all his life.

LUCKY
This is a story with a really great ending that needs to be shared. The story is from Hayley who played such an amazing role in bringing Lucky back to life…
“This is Lucky, a border collie from Cape Town.
He had been kicked in the head, he had wire tied around his neck, and was swung around by it!
Lucky was used as a soccer ball; he was dragged across gravel, etc. by human filth in Kaylisha.
He was rescued by a couple and their child and was taken to a vet who was going to put him down due to the extent of his injuries BUT lucky wagged his tail.
PETS took him in and he was put into a foster home.
We then adopted him and his friend Sammy but Lucky was so desperately ill and riddled with mange that our dogs attacked him. We put him into permanent vet care with the help of Maxi.
After a few months and his full recovery from a physical perspective it was clear that our dogs would not accept him. It was decided that he would go to Border Collie Rescue who found him a perfect home.
This is Lucky today!
He is a miracle and it makes my heart burst. We all need a good news story sometimes, and this is indeed one of the most miraculous and beautiful. I thought that you would all enjoy seeing how far this once destroyed dog has come.
We miss him every single day but were honoured to have had Lucky in our lives and are so grateful to everyone who played a role in helping this dog have the life he so richly deserves.”
Now after seeing the difference in this beautiful creature, don't you think that it would be awesome if you could be a small part of such an awesome transformation.
This is why I have decided to do what I do…
If you are offended I honestly don't know why. This is a miracle pure and simple… and that is nothing to be ashamed or offended by!
last but not least…Thanks to all my followers, subscribers and friends who read my posts. I am honoured to have you around…

Growing…
Recently I have thrown myself into the deep end of finding homes for animals, growing my blog and trying every which way to grow my pages, profiles and page to get more exposure for South African animals desperately in need of help.
People’s habits have become a huge focus of mine.
It has made me come to realize that very few people have actually been very helpful to me.
As a child I would find comfort from pets. They knew when I was sad, they knew that I needed a little extra something. They didn’t have mouths to ask me what was wrong - they would never have understood what was wrong either. All they knew is that something wasn’t right and they gave their unconditional love in the moments that I most needed it.
I’m not the kind of person who likes to ask for help often and I do like to tackle things on my own. It gives me a sense of pride and purpose to get through the task on my own.
Sometimes one person can’t handle doing everything on their own.
Now this is the reason I despise asking people for help… Every time I have asked someone for help there is always a problem. It’s always too much effort –
Most people on social networking sites find it too difficult to click on a few buttons –
When you need to borrow something or need help in one way or another people’s memories fail of the countless times you were there for them when they were in need or went out of your way to cheer them up.
They’ll be willing to throw a thoughtless sentence at you “why didn’t you speak up earlier”, “oh, we are too busy”, “I don’t like hospitals”… and so on
in a blink of an eye they are back again with some sob story of how they need you to do this or that and it turns out being a vicious circle.
There comes a point when you can’t be nice anymore. I am at that point. I feel that my inner bitch wants to come out and play and tell these people where to get off the bus. My mom says she learned the same life lesson at my age. I can honestly understand what she means.
This is what I meant by cleaning out the trash in my Monday post.
I am going to find my happy medium, one that excludes the users, and those who have pushed me aside when their fame, fortune or cliques stood in the way.
Finding my happy place will include building my good relationships and hopefully finding more like-minded people as friends…
